Hay work when your fields are ready
Good hay depends on timing. Cut too late and quality drops; bale too soon and you risk heating and mold. Many landowners have the ground but not the equipment or the hours to put up hay when the weather window opens, and many farms need an extra operator during the busiest stretch of the season. Our custom haying service fills that gap for farms, horse properties and landowners across Maryland.
What we do
- Cutting and conditioning. Mowing the stand and conditioning it to speed drying.
- Tedding. Spreading and fluffing the cut hay so it dries evenly.
- Raking. Turning and gathering the hay into windrows ready for the baler.
- Baling. Baling the windrows once the hay has dried down.
- Complete job or by the operation. Hire us for the whole job, or just the steps you don't have the equipment or time for.

Planning around the weather
Hay is a weather business. We plan cutting around the forecast and the drying days a field needs, and we stay in touch as conditions change. If rain moves in, we adjust the schedule instead of laying down hay that won't cure. Whether your fields are grass hay, mixed stands or alfalfa, tell us what you're growing and how many cuttings you usually take, and we'll plan the season with you.
Fields that are ready for the equipment
Hayfields that have been neglected for a season or two often need work before they can be cut cleanly. Rocks, fallen limbs, old wire and brush along the edges damage mowers and balers. We can brush hog overgrown ground, clear fence rows and field edges, and pick up storm debris so the field is ready for haying.
How to get started
Send us the property location, the approximate acreage, what's growing, the operations you need and your timing. We'll look over the fields, talk through the schedule and put the arrangement and price in writing. Between cuttings and after the season, we also handle field and pasture mowing to keep the rest of the property in shape.
