Rolling farmland, close to home
Carroll County sits on rolling Piedmont ground between Baltimore and Frederick counties, running north to the Pennsylvania line. Agriculture still defines most of the county, from Taneytown and Union Bridge in the west to Manchester and Hampstead in the northeast, and the county has preserved a large share of its farmland through agricultural easements. Mount Airy and Sykesville are a short drive from our base in Damascus.
Hay, pasture and fence rows
Carroll County farms run a mix of grain, hay, beef, dairy and horses, with plenty of smaller farmettes and landholdings in between. That makes custom haying and pasture mowing two of our most useful services here. Long runs of fence divide pastures across the county, and when brush takes hold along them, fence-line clearing opens them up ahead of repairs or a rebuild.
Reclaiming idle ground
When a farm changes hands or a field sits idle for a few seasons, it quickly fills in with weeds, briars and brush. Brush hogging knocks down that growth and gets it back toward pasture or hay. Where woody growth and invasive shrubs like multiflora rose have taken over field edges, forestry mulching and underbrush clearing recover the ground without bulldozed piles.
Builders and growing towns
Around Westminster, Eldersburg and Sykesville, and along the Route 140 and Route 26 corridors, builders and property owners need lot clearing and site preparation and grading. Farms need ground prepared for barns, run-in sheds and equipment pads. We work to approved plans and the county's sediment control requirements on permitted work.
Storm debris and cleanup
Open, rolling ground takes the brunt of summer storms. Our storm debris cleanup clears pastures, hayfields and farm lanes, and debris haul-off takes care of old brush piles and material from clearing jobs.
